Solution
We have designed the site to optimize user experience in terms of readability. If we make the text too small for most people our readers will be squinting at their screens. If we make it too large then the length of the material increases which creates a lot scrolling to get to the end.
We've tried to strike a happy balance. But it's all down to personal circumstances.
If you would like to see an image bigger, perhaps to read an inscription, just click and hold on the image and it automatically doubles for you.
If you want the text bigger you can achieve this by setting your browser to Zoom In.
For Mac Safari this is a Menu item under View. Click 'Zoom In' and the screen contents get bigger. Successive clicks make it larger still.
For Chrome Browsers:
Zoom in or out on your current page
Use the zoom options to make everything on a webpage larger or smaller.
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More .
Next to "Zoom," choose the zoom options you want:
Make everything larger: Click Zoom in .
Make everything smaller: Click Zoom out .
Use full-screen mode: Click Full screen .
