"The war pictures were taken with a 620 bellows camera bought from the Assistant Operations Officer, Herb Philo. I had belatedly decided that I might live through the war and that it would be nice to have some photos. Philo had not wanted to sell the camera but he suddenly got an opportunity to buy a captured German P-38 pistol from a GI and needed $50 fast. So, I got the camera.
A review of the list of people scheduled to be at the reunion makes me think that only 5 or 6 of them would have known any of the people in the pictures. But all might have enjoyed the settings and the aircraft."
