John Gusic sent this picture to me. It was taken at the 8th Air
Force Museum in Savannah GA at our reunion.
The Stearman in the background is strong memory
for anyone lucky enough to train in one.
In my opinion, it was
the greatest training airplane ever. With its high center of gravity, its very narrow gear and its
huge wind catching wings it was an airplane one had to pay attention to until it was parked and
chocked.
We used to say, "You have to fly it all the way into the parking space!"
Relax, and you had trouble.
