There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Added: Remaining crew: Fw Martin Haustein, Obs (Ret'd); Uffz Armin Wuigk, R/O (Ret'd) and Uffz Friedrich Thomas Leibold, Gnr (KilledInAction (KIA)). Fw Wiese also returned. The VDK places Leibold's death at Baltezers-Adazi, on the White Sea, Latvia. Uffz Leibold was probably transferred to the Saldus (Frauenburg) War Cem., Latvia, among the unknown (D.Drury).

Remaining crew: Hptm Erich Wiese, Obs (KIC); Ofw Siegfried Reimann, R/O (DOW 12/31/43; field hosp at Golta FP) and Uffz Jakob Jochemich, Mech (KIC). Hptm Wiese was an RK Holder (3/26/44 Post), EP (7/13/42), DK-G (10/11/42) and EK 1 & 2. None of their remains have been transferred to a military cemetery, and graves are believed to exist at Pervomaisk, Ukraine. All four are commemorated in Sammelfriedhof, Kropywnytsky, Ukraine (D.Drury).

WIA on 18/07/43 when shot down N of the Aetna with his Radop/Gunr Fw Hans Wolfsteiner (WIA). Have made already over 80 combat flights (and 1087 flights in all) up to 07/42. Mentioned in the summary of Günter Schultze-Quentells life (AirWar Publications) - he flew as a passenger on a courier flight with a Bf-110 under pilot Willi Bründl to the main airfield of 2.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 14 at Gasr-el-Regen in the summer of 1941 and on 01/10/41 again to Bir-el-Gabr when he returned after his marriage holiday. On 12/06/41 on transit flight of new aircraft for 2.(H)/ Aufkl.Gr. 14 from Lippstadt via Leipheim and Africa. On 02/09/41 he flew with Obsv Rabanser and Gunr Stolz a courier flight in the morning from Martuba to Bir el Gabr and later a combat mission from Bir el Gabr and afterwards a courier flight back to Martuba. On 09/10/41 he had to force land his HS-126 20km E of Barce. Bründl eventually made it back to base two days later. He was flying a Fi-156 Kurierflug with the Obsv Hans-Dietrich Komnick on 01/02/42. On 11/02/42 he flew a mission with Obsv Ernst von Weyrauch and a man from a Propagandakompanie as Gunr. He flew with his crew Radop Schulze from Lippstadt to Martuba between 12-18/06/41. Many more combat and courier flights followed (Flugbuch available if questions occur!). He flew often with his Radop/Gunr Fw Hans Wolfsteiner - from 2.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 14 in 1943 via 4.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 12 to ZG 26 in 1943 (!) Wolfsteiner was apparently KIA on 03 March 1944 in air combat with Bründl as pilot! (CK)

POW 5 August, 1943; shot down by two P-38s, piloted by Capt. Richard Holly and Capt. William Bethea, off the north coast of Norway. Set on fire, the Condor ditched in the ocean just off the east coast of Grimsey Island, off northern Iceland. The crew managed to board a life raft and were picked up by American military and taken to a nearby British warship. Remaining crew (all POW): Uffz Günter Karte, Co-pilot (see own entry); Radop Fw Josef Teufel (EK 2, born 01/07/1920 in Ahreiz, CK); Radop 2 Uffz Herbert Richter (WIA, EK 2, born 14/02/1918 in Wiese, Erzgeb, CK); OFw Emil-Otto Brand (WIA, EK 2, born 22/05/1916 in Auerdorf, CK), Mech Gefr Wilhelm Lehn (EK 2, born 25/11/1922 in Niedersaulheim, CK) and Gunr OGefr Siegfried Klinkmann (EK2 born 04/02/1923 in Berlin, CK). He crashed at Deeping St James England (Rosseels). One other unnamed crew KilledInAction (KIA) and one POW (Ju 88 Loss List). His first victory, a Wellington 100 km W of Texel the night of 24 July, 1940. Appearing on a "Duplicate Claim", the unit is identified as 5/NJG-2. Added: The unnamed crewman KilledInAction (KIA) was Uffz Hermann Mandel, geb 1/1/1918, Bur CC, Blk 5, Gr 347. Ofw Wiese buried CC, Blk 5, Gr 346 (Luftwaffe Graves UK).

KilledInAction (KIA) 9 August, 1942 in Werknr 10438 by a swarm of nine Russian P-40 fighters near Amossovo, Russia. He died in his A/C after taking canopy hits. Channel pilot. Max was also known to be a "Recon" pilot, and had many unconfirmed victories (per Hannes Wiese). 300+ combat missions. His 1st known victory, a Morane 406 W of Peronne on 20 May, 1940, while in 1/JG-21. His 2nd, a Spitfire on 12 August, 1940. His 4th, a Spitfire on 30 August, 1940, no location. His 5th, a Hurricane over England on 5 September, 1940. Shot down 1 September, 1940 in an E-4 by a Spitfire over the Boulogne Canal. Downed 5 times. Shot down with wounds 12 May, 1942 in Werknr 13125. He was the 2nd JG 54 pilot to achieve 100 victories (12/05/42) in Werknr 13114, the same day he was wounded by shell fragments. Countless numerous victories. His first known Soviet victories, both SB-2s, on 23 June, 1941. He downed JG-54s 1000th victory on 1 August, 1941, most likely in an F-2 (or F-4) "White 2", while in 7 Staffel. He also flew a Bf 109E-4 "White 2" in 7 Staffel, 1940. Bowers/Lednicer, 102 vics. Added: On May 12, 1942 he was the 6th pilot ever to reach 100th victories. However, he was seriously wounded in the right thigh and forearm on this combat tour. It was only with difficulty that he managed to return to the airfield and half unconsciously land and was immediately operated in a field hospital. Returned one day before he was KIA on 09/08/42. 879 combat missions by July 1942. His first known victory, a Hudson W of Lister (Norway?) on 31 October, 1940. He was injured in a crash on 24 April, 1941 in his E-4 after being hit by flak in the Athens area. About 70 of his victories were in Russia. One known victory was an I-16 of the 55th Fighter Aviation Regt., shot down 24 July, 1941 during Operation Barbarossa. A Soviet Yak-1 on 23 March, 1942. His 50th, a Soviet fighter on 3 June, 1942 while in 6/JG-77. Numerous victories in the Med. areas. He was the most successful German pilot over Malta (nickname The Lion of Malta, CK). Shot down with wounds by P-38s in his G-6 on 12 July, 1943 over Gela Sicily. Bailed successfully. His 99th victory, a B-24 over Italy on 29 May, 1944. His 100th victory, a B-24 SE of Pieve Italy on 13 June, 1944. His 101st, a Spitfire at Doesburg on 27 September, 1944. Nominated for the EL. After the war, he was known to have flown for the French in Indochina under the name Dichters Gustav Freytag. Due to failing health, he lives since 1970 in a soldiers home for Legionairres in Puylobier France. Deceased 1 June, 2003 at Laveran Hospital in Marseille. Bowers/Lednicer, 102 victories. Added: Shot down on 27/07/42 over the Med, was rescued by a German boat minutes before British troops reached him. Seriously WIA again in 01/44 in US bombing raid against the airfield. His character against foolish orders was famous: whenn Göring ordered to nominate one "coward" in each Staffel to be court-martialed for lack of results against the US bombers, Freytag volunteered. Last aerial victory on 02/01/45. Acting Geschwaderkommodore when only 25 years old! (CK)

KilledInAction (KIA) 7 March, 1945 in Bf 109G-14/AS Werk # 786329 "Black <1+", near Schwarzwasser/Hultschin, Cz., when he collided with a shot-down Yak-9, and tried to to bale out with 200 feet of altitude. His AC crashed at Drogomysl, Poland, engine being recovered in 2010 (Kristoff Starczewski). Bailed successfully over Dieppe, with wounds, from his A-3 on 19 August, 1942, the victim of an RAF Spitfire.1 Bomber. Wiese successor. Was nominated for the EL. 500 combat missions; 43 victories in the West, 1 four engine bomber. His first victory, a Blenheim 12 km east of Sedan, 14 May, 1940, while in Stab III/JG-2. While Kdr I/JG-2, bailed with wounds 19 August, 1942 near Abbeville after aerial combat with fighters. His first known Soviet victory, two Il-2s on 10 September, 1942. His parachute was either burning or faulty, because he sustained a serious back injury when parachuting. Succeeded Johannes Steinhoff as Kdr of JG-77, and replaced by Maj Erich Leie after his injury. Turned over to the Russians after the war and confined until 1950. 480 missions. The Luftwaffe's 3rd highest Sturmovik killer with 70+ victories over the Il-2. Third only to Otto Kittel (94) and Joachim Brendel (88).His first known Soviet victory, A P-2 on 3 August, 1942. His 2nd, a LaGG-3 on 4 August, 1942. Four Il-2s on 25 October, 1942. Three Il-2s on 25 December, 1942. A Yak-1 and an Il-7 on 9 May, 1943. A Yak-1, a Pe-2, a Spitfire and a LaGG-3 on 26 May, 1943. An Il-7, a Yak-1 and a LaGG-5 on 28 May, 1943. Two Il-7s on 30 May, 1943. Probably his highest scoring day, on 5 July, 1943, he downed Eight Il-4s and four Il-2s, bringing his total to 88. Johannes Wiese (7 May 1915 – 16 August 1991) was a German World War II fighter ace who served in the Luftwaffe from 1935 until the end of World War II on 8 May 1945. After the war in 1956 he joined the Bundeswehr and attained the rank of Oberstleutnant . He retired on 30 November 1970. His most successful day was 5 July 1943 when he shot down twelve enemy aircraft in one mission. [1 ] Johannes Wiese was officially credited with 133 victories claimed in 480 combat missions. Additionally he had 75 more unconfirmed claims. [1 ] Among his claims are 70 Il-2 Stormoviks . Soviet fighter pilots therefore greatly respected Wiese, and referred to him as the "Lion of Kuban ." On December 1, 1944, Wiese became Geschwaderkommodore of the JG 77 . Only three weeks later he was severely injured when, following ejection at an altitude of more than 9000 meters after combat with British Spitfires, his parachute ruptured 80 meters above ground. He spent the rest of the winter in hospital, and was replaced as commander by Erich Leie . He surrendered to U.S. forces at the end of the war but was released from captivity only weeks later. 6 Bombers. 830 combat missions. EL & S conferred May 17 and 19 in 1942. His first known victory, a Soviet I-16 on 4 August, 1941 in "Yellow 9". Numerous multiple victories, including two La-5s and an Il-2 on 8 September, 1942. Ten Soviet victories on 23 September, 1942. Raised his victory total from 58 to 100 in seventeen days! 1st to score 200 victories in Oct 42. In Sept. 1943, JGr-50 was established to combat Allied High Altitude aircraft. EJG- OST is Ftr Repl Grp-East. This A-5 had the often pictured fancy paint job. Turned over to Russians after the surrender. Served 5 years in a POW Camp before released (joined Communist Fed). Erich Hartmann said he was released after 10 years with he, Hajo Herrmann and Johannes Wiese. Known to fly Bf 109E-7 "Yellow 9" in 9/JG-52 in the Ukraine in August, 1941. KilledInAction (KIA) 1 January, 1945 when his K-4 received a direct hit from Flak. He crashed the G-14 at Werkendam Holland (DeSwart). Known to have made a belly landing on 3 November, 1942 after aerial combat with British fighters near Quotaifiya. One known victory, a Typhoon 5 km northwest of Le Hourdel on 18 May, 1943. His 2nd, a Spitfire 2 km north of Marquise on 1 June, 1943. A 3rd, a B-17 he accidentally rammed, 10 km ESE of Schweinfurt on 14 October, 1943. A 4th, a Mosquito at Cande, 30 km NW of Angers, on 25 July, 1944. Added: Buried Ysselsteyn AL-3-66 (Manrho/Putz publ.).

Russian POW in May, 1945. Released after 10 years in Russian captivity along with Hajo Hermann, Hermann Graf, Ferdinand Schoerner, Hartmann and Wiese. A WWI ace with 6 victories in 160 Observer missions, and post war Commercial pilot, he became a Party member in 1926 and in 1932 began piloting Hitler. So impressed by Baur, Hitler kept his loyal and trusted pilot until his death in 1945. Baur was an Oberführer in the SS, as was Heydrich. Believed to be a Lt General in the Post-war Luftwaffe. Deceased 17 February, 1993 in Herrsching (CK)

It's Flt Engr, Sgt Hugh Murray, of Fife Scotland, was KilledInAction (KIA), and buried Overloon War cem Noord Brabant, Neth,. location III.A.I..The inventor of the "Wilde Sau" System, 26 June, 1943. EL 8/2/43. The use of single-engine fighters for night operations. Very costly in terms of pilots and AC. Herrmann came to fighters from bombers. The Bf 109T-1 (questionable) was the type destined for use on the carrier Graff Zepplin, however this project was cancelled by order of Hitler. In January, 1944, he was appointed Kdr of Jagddivision 30, over all three of the Wilde Sau units, 300, 301 & 302. In March 1945, he commanded Sonderkommando-Elbe, a Bf 109 unit whose purpose was to ram Allied bombers. Only about 24 successful attacks were recorded. About 370 combat missions, serving in Spain, Poland, Norway, France Malta and Greece, before founding the Wilde Sau Units. Sank 12 Soviet convoy ships, about 65,000BRT. Also known to have flown Fw 190A-5 "Black 1" as Kdr JG-300. Spent ten long years in Russian captivity. Released with Hartmann, Graf, Wiese and Hans Baur. Deceased 11/5/2010 Düsseldorf.

One known victory, his 4th, a P-40 in N. Africa on 14 December, 1942. A second P-40, his 5th victory, in the Desert on 26 February, 1943. His 6th, a P-38 over the Ischia area, 30 August, 1943. His 7th, a B-24D over southern Italy, 3 September, 1943. An 8th, a B-17 (e.V.) over Italy on 18 March, 1944. His 8th per OKL, a P-47 over Italy on 28 March, 1944. His 9th, a P-47 at Westerwald on 7 October, 1944.
