There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Operation Barbarossa, Russia, 1941. Flew his Bf 109 Taifun to Ju 88 crashsites to retrieve spare parts. Severely injured 19 August, 1941 in a crash due to engine failure on his 132nd mission. Returned to duty in 1944 with KG-1 flying the four-engine He 177. His gunner was Fw Hein Bruns. R/O Uffz Hans Jäger. Observer Fw Zens. British POW, released 1946. He was interviewed for a History Channel program seen in 2002. Retired LW-Bundeswehr Oberst. Deceased 10 April, 2004.

Added: Severely WIA on 07/06/40 when damaged by ground fire near Grécourt, SE of Ham, needed to crash land near Hombleaux and was hospitalized at St. Quentin. Another crash land on 04/04/41 at Münster-Loddenheide airfield but unhurt. Gunr Fw Georg Hoser KIA on 14/04/41. Banke is buried at war cemetery Dionyssos-Rapendoza. (CKönig)

MIA 29 July, 1944; sd during aerial combat with No.241 Sq. fighters 30km E of Rimini (LOCS). MIA briefly 1 March, 1943, after being shot down by enemy fighters near Gaffour (Gfour el Aroussa). DK-G Awards List. Another source (Bf 109 Loss List) identifies the ac as a G-2/R2 Trop (no Wk3) "Red 14" (lost 3/1/43) shot down by Bren Gun of the Gordon Highlanders at Zarzis, pilot escaped. Added: Flew Bf-110 with Radop Walter Stolz (05/05/20-10/07/96) and Gunr Kopp on 24/12/42. In the Flugbuch is mentioned that they were attacked during landing by a Hurricane. Added: Had already 138 missions on 29/04/43. Metz flew the 3000. combat mission/ Feindflug of the Staffel on 3 September 1943. He was part of it since 1941. WIA on 27/02/41 with Obsv Lt Hermann Herte (TO of 6.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 12, born 1912/09/04 in Münster)1945 Hptm in III./JG 54) in a crash near Royan. Joined the Bundeswehr on 12/12/1959 and retired on 22/12/1969 as Kommodore of Aufklärungsgeschwader 52 (CK)

KilledInAction (KIA) 10 October, 1943, in aerial combat over Osnabrück with P-47s, opposing U.S. bombers during the Münster raid. His Radop Lt Heinz Wulf was KIA too. WIA 27 June, 1941 when hit by AA fire and crash landed near Nova Volya. Added: WIA 7 September, 1941; AA fire in the vicinity of Saaremaa (LOCS). Added: Wilhelm Berlin was shot down 3 times. The first time on 27/06/41 in his Messerschmitt Bf 110E-1, Werknr. 4062 near Novavola where he and his Radop OFw Josef Masson managed to make an emergency landing. On 07/09/41 he was shot down near Sareema again together with his Radop Caspar Stein. (CK)

Damaged in an accident 30 January, 1945, "Yellow 4" was refurbished sometime after January, 1945, put back into service as "White 24" in I/JG-27. It was found later, after a belly landing and stripped of parts, at Rheine airfield, 30km N of Münster (C.Sundin, Luftwaffe Fighter Profiles/F.Braun). Added: While in JG-3, he served as wingman for Hans Joachim Kirschner (C.König).

On 1 March, 1940, his other ac was damaged by AA fire near Poix-Terron, and they belly landed at Biblis (LOCS). Added: Seriously wounded on 20 July, he was hospitalized at Brugges, Be. When recovered, he joined 1/KG-200, flying the old Ar 232 ac of Lt Lothar Sieber. His was the first mission to assassinate Stalin on 31 May, 1944 with Lt Paul Goldstein as Team Commander. The mission failed due to dense fog, and the ac was damaged when a landing gear collapsed while landing at Zareby Poland (H.D.Zemke). Pilot returned with wounds, his unnamed R/O was listed MIA (Bf 110 Loss List). Shot down 10 October, 1943 in Werk # 420031, opposing the Münster raid. One crew KilledInAction (KIA), the othe WIA; not sure the pilot disposition. His 410 crashed in Holland, exact location not given (DeSwart).
