Schopf went out at 900 feet and broke his neck landing, but survived. Schakat was less fortunate, his chute tangled on the AC, and he was dragged to his death as the AC crashed. Müller intended to jump, but his chute opened before he could evacuate the plane, so he opted to make the force landing himself, and did so, coming down in a field within yards of the farmhouse of Walter Kirkwood. His injuries from the landing caused him to remain in the hospital for five months. Ender and Schakat lie in the German Military Cemetery at Cannock Chase.
