Search Tips  •  Soviet Units  •  Check Spelling Names  •  Soviet Planes by Type & Number

Data derived from many sources. Corrections/Additions requested through Helpdesk
You can Search on Name (check available names and spelling via the Names List button). Be aware there is no standardized way of Anglicizing Russian-language names. Many variants usually exist and all will be valid. When Searching, try different approaches. For example, 'y' is often spelled 'ij' or 'ii'. 'yo' might be spelled 'e'. We have included Anglicized variants in many cases but you should not rely on this to find your target. You can also Search on Unit (check the Units mentioned in the database via the Soviet Units link above).
Excellent resource on Soviet aviation dispositions post WWll is at ww2.dk

* Note that 'Affiliation' represents an individual's nationality, which could be Russian or one of the Republics forming the USSR (such as Ukraine) during the Soviet era. Unfortunately, in most cases we do not know his specific nationality, and therefore use the general description 'Soviet'.
