Air/Gnr: Cpl. Frank Jules George Miller 529365 RAFVR Age 26. Killed

REASON FOR LOSS:

Taking off at 22:56 hrs with four others to attack Leeuwarden Airfield.

Hit by anti-aircraft unit over the airfield and coming own at Akkerwoude 01:15 hrs. Only the pilot survived, seriously injured and taken PoW.

A memorial to the crew was placed on the 18th May, 2017 exactly 75 years since the aircraft came down. Bouwgroep Dijkstra Draisma made this happen.

F/O. Sebastian Bernard de Mier. Dantumadeel General Cemetery (Damwoude) Plot E. Row 7. Grave 2. Son of Sebastian Bernardo de Mier and Luz de Mier and husband of Evelyn de Mier, of New York City, USA. Grave inscription reads: "He Had Courage, Courtesy, Kindness. He Could Not Then Be False To Any Man. R.I.P".

Cpl. Frank Jules George Miller. Damwoude General Cemetery. (Damwoude) Plot E. Row 7. Grave 3. Son of Samuel and Mary Miller and husband of Rose Miller of Drangfield, Yorkshire, England. Grave inscription reads: "We Meet Each Day In The Garden Of Memories Wife Ev. . Jeanne And Mum".
