The Brevet Club
Jim Beaton

We knew the world would look different

And our view would ne’er be the same

When we took our very first flight

And saw it all from a plane

But no flight can ever compare

To the day when you first flew

Fit, qualified, tested, categorised

Trusted member of an aircrew

Early calls, planning, pre-flight checks

Become normal part of your day

You’d even do extra night MCT

To log hours in any way

Thru the hundreds of trips recorded

And all the experience you’d gain

Thankfully supported by ground crew

Working hours to service your plane

Now that you’ve changed your lifestyle

Think of friends and those passed away

You’ll never forget the comradeship

Of those who earned a BREVET
