REASON FOR LOSS:
During the afternoon of the Sunday 28th March 1943 Sgt. Starzynski was on a shipping reconnaissance sortie off Lle de Batz when he came into contact wit Fw190’s from JG2 and at 14.30 hrs shot down and lost in the Cannel. AR468 was the only casualty from 602 squadron this day.
610 Squadron did lose 4 aircraft, with all pilots killed over Abbeville during a Rodeo – also victims of JG2.

Burial Details:
Sgt. Henryk Starzynski. Commemorated on the Polish Memorial at Northolt and also Memorial for Aircrew in Warsaw, Poland. Born 17th March 1917. N.o.K. details not currently available.
