WHERE DO YOUR PHOTOS COME FROM?We've collected many photos over the years, and have our own family treasure chest of course, many taken by our family member W/O Alec Pietrzak (309 Squadron PAF) and his friends. And our colleagues and friends across the world have been generous, for which we are grateful.
In order to maximise the value of the historical record, Aircrew Remembered therefore presents images from many sources. We are grateful to everyone who contributes images to us and we endeavour to acknowledge the source of each on the image itself or in its caption.
People ask us about who owns copyright on photos and in this regard the law is clear: no copyright exists for WWII photographs taken prior to 1945, and any copyright sign affixed to such images is without effect. The extremely rare exception is when the photographer is known by name and was alive in 1996, in which case copyright was revived at that time and belongs to the actual photographer, not the supplier of the image.
This being the case, Aircrew Remembered does not represent that it owns copyright to any images it uses (except as may be noted). However, as a courtesy to us and our contributors, we ask that you email us before using any images you see on our site.
