Solution
This information should help you decide to ensure JavaScript is turned on in your browser.
This will maximize the usefulness of our site for you. Aircrew Remembered is built to deliver optimal user readibility ONLY if the user has enabled JavaScript. This is true for millions of other sites.
If you do not so so, many useful aspects of the site will not work for you, for example Translate will not function, Twitter and Facebook buttons will not display, you won't be able to Highlight text in long documents, and the images for our homepage do not display.
So please go ahead and enable JavaScript in your browser (in Safari you will find you can turn it on in Preferences > Security > Enable JavaScript), and there are similar mechanisms for other browsers.
JavaScript as used on this site does not pose ANY security risks.
NB JavaScript is NOT the programming language Java. It is a completely different thing altogether. Whatever you may have read about security risks associated with poorly designed Java applications has nothing whatsoever to do with JavaScript. JavaScript is very widely deployed in miillions of sites worldwide.
