Pilot: P/O. Robert Vincent Rolph RAF Age 20. Killed
REASON FOR LOSS:
During a training operation, P/O. Rolph collided with another Hawker Fury K1933 flown by P/O. Colin Campbell McMullen also from same squadron. P/O. McMullen managed to land suffering only slight injures.
P/O. Ralph was killed when his aircraft crashed about a mile from Halnaker near to his base.

Burial details:
P/O. Robert Vincent Rolph. Chichester Cemetery, Sussex. Son of Harold Rolph and Clementina Hughes of Montreal, Canada. Educated at Loyola College Montreal, Canada (now Concordia University) and entered the RAF in 1931. Obtained the Sword of Honour at Cranwell.
