A Czech source suggests his date of death was 2 February, and that he died at Luckau, and is buried in a single grave at the Lübben Hauptfriedhof, Virchow Street (D.Drury).

Like so many pilots towards the end of the war, he reported in an interview that he served in the Infantry. This could be Uffz Mayer of 4/JG-54 in May, 1944 or Uffz Meier of 1/JG-54, however inconclusive. I found no victories on the OKL Claims List.
