There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

Injured in an emergency landing at Lonrai after aerial combat on 7 July, 1944.

Another source (Manrho/Putz publ,) suggests he made a belly landing and was captured. WIA 6 July, 1944 during aerial combat with a P-51 8km west of Verona, bailed safely (Bf 109 Loss List). One known victory, his 1st, a P-38 on 10 May, 1944. His 2nd, a P-47 on 9 June, 1944. His 3rd, a P-51 on 18 September, 1944, no location given.

One known victory his 1st, a P-47 NW of Bonn on 1 December, 1943. His 2nd, a B-17 S on Munich on 25 February, 1944. His 3rd, a P-38 SE of Ulm on 18 March, 1944. Shot down for the sixth time on 7 January, 1944. Bailed three times and survived seven belly landings. Alternate spelling: Blüme (Perry Claims).

Fighter Operational Clasp		WIA 24 June, 1943 during aerial combat with a P-47 of 78FG. Shot down at Ichtegem, NE of Torhout, with his face and body severely burned. He returned to JG-26 on 31 July, 1944, in a non-flying capacity. A pilot from 1940 to 1945, he opposed RAF & American fighters over NW France and Belgium, and was a Bodenplatte pilot. In the last days of the war, 4 January, 1945, his long time friend and only remaining member from his original unit, Lt Wilhelm Mayer, was killed. His one known victory, a Mosquito (unconfirmed) 80 km NNW of Fecamp on 3 May, 1943. After the war, he authored a book entitled "Heaven, Next Stop", as a tribute to the fighter pilots of II Group. Also spelled Bloemertz. Bowers/Lednicer, 10 victories.

His remains have not been transferred to a military cemetery, but a grave is understood to exist at Nowy Tomysl, and he is commemorated in the Ger War Cem at Poznan-Milostowo, Poland (D.Drury). His Mechanic, Uffz Kurt Barth was injured in the crash. One known victory, a "4 mot" at Vendome on 1 July, 1944. A 2nd, a "2 mot" (B-26 most likely) at Amiens on 8 July, 1944. A 3rd, a "4 mot" 25 km NW of Vechta on 13 August, 1944. His Ju 88G-1 was shot down w/o injuries near Frankfurt the night of 25/26 August, 1944. A "4 mot" by ramming, a Halifax LK 750 "MH-Y2" of RAF No. 51 Sq., piloted by F/G Charles R. Seaman(KilledInAction (KIA)), over Baumholder on 18 March, 1944. Remaining crew: Sgt William Powell, Flt Engr(POW); F/S William A. Robson, Nav(POW); Sgt Roberet H. Pickford, R/O(POW); F/S Edward A. Glover, Bombadier(KilledInAction (KIA)); Sgt Leslie A. WIFA on 24/02/42 on a transport flight to Lüneburg 3 km E of Bremen airfield. Starboard engine caught fire shortly after take-off. His 1st victory, as an Ofhr, a B-17 (HSS) on 22 June, 1943. His 2nd, a B-17 (HSS) on 17 August, 1943. His "White 10" overturned on landing at Ödheim after this engagement, pilot safe. His 3rd, a B-17 on 11 January, 1944. His 4th, a B-17 (HSS) on 24 January, 1944. His 5th, a B-17 10 km S of Chimay on 8 February, 1944. Shot down over France in Feb. 1944. His 6th, a B-17 on 6 March, 1944, no location. His 7th, a B-17 N of Kaiserlautern on 24 April, 1944. He witnessed the death of his good friend, Johannes Rathenow, being just to his left when Rathenows AC exploded on 3 November, 1943. Berger flew the He 162 in 2/JG-1 in March and April 1945. Ar 232 A-101

The first and only unit fully equipped with Ar 232 was the 7./Erg.TG. (Supplementary transport squadron). Their formation, in Schönwalde near Berlin, was apparently ordered as early as June 1943, probably on the 15th. The first squadron commander, Walter Meltzer (Knights Cross) from III./TG 1, had been appointed, but together with the group commander the l./Erg.TG., Major Kurt Wendorff, in a test flight with the Ar 232 A-03, VD + YC, he was fatally injured in Schönwalde along with Oblt. Helmut Jardon, Offz.z.b.V., Ofw. Albert Klenk, Bordmechaniker, and Uffz. Heinrich Gräf, Bordfunker, all of the 7./Erg.TG. Meltzer's successor was Major Josef Belz. While he and a few other members of the squadron, including Ofw. Max Limbrecht, had already been instructed in the new pattern at the factory, it was not until December 1943 that the A-02 aircraft in Schönwalde could be deployed. That same month, the squadron was relocated to Eger. There it received three more machines in January (A-06, A-09 and B-06) and another two in February 1944. The last two should have been at least one more B, most likely the B-05.

Flying his G-6, Wk# 163195 "Black 5", he lost his concentration, and was jumped by a Soviet P-39. His last victory was on 5 Jan., 1945. Injured in another crash on 25 April, 1945, when his Me 262 was shot down by a P-51. He carried the name "Christl", his wifes name on nearly all his AC. Barkhorns wingman was Fahnrich Graf Keller. His crew chief from 40 to 45, Cpl. Albert Kusterer. Shot down 9 times. In 1955, he joined the West German Luft. and became a General. Deceased 11 January, 1983; auto accident 6 January,1983, wife Christl killed instantly 6 January. Post war home: Tegernsee.

Hauptmann Heinz Baader (March 25, 1916 - February 18, 1966) was a pilot of aufklärer (scout) who was born and raised in Munich (later he also died there). He was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on April 26, 1945 as Hauptmann in Nahaufklärungsgruppe 5 (led by Major Hermann Schmidt) for the extraordinary effort he displayed at Cirava (Kurland), although I did not get information about what his business was like. One type of aircraft he had piloted was Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 / U3. Baader was promoted to Oberfeldwebel on January 25, 1943, Leutnant on April 16, 1944, and Hauptmann on April 26, 1945 (together with his gift of the Ritterkreuz). Other medals and awards he received: Flugzeugführerabzeichen; Eisernes Kreuz II.Klasse and I.Klasse; Dienstauszeichnung der Wehrmacht III.Klasse; Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 (1942); Luftwaffe Ehrenpokale für Besondere Leistungen im Luftkrieg (January 25, 1943); Frontflugspange für Aufklärer in Gold; and the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (April 16, 1944)

One late victory, a Mosquito on 3 April, 1945. In the last days of the war, he used the Reinfeld autobahn as a runway during the day. On 7 May, 1945, from his last 262 base at Schleswig-Jagel, rather than waiting to surrender to the British, Altner simply got on his bike and pedaled home!

Fighter Operational Clasp		One known victory during the Sicilian campaign, a B-24D 28 km west of Cape Spartha on 9 July, 1943. Most likely, he and Fw Fahrenberger were flying wing together this date. His 2nd, a B-24 when he opposed the Ploesti raid, downing the bomber 50 km west of Kefallinia on 1 August, 1943. Another victory, a B-17 near the Gulf de Fos southern France, 16 November, 1943. A P-38 SW of Cassis on 21 January, 1944. Two P-38s over southern France on 4 March, 1944; one at Serres, the other at Berre-LEtang. Another P-38 on 7 March, 1944, over Italy, no location. His 8th, a B-17 at Agram (Zagreb) on 24 May, 1944. His 9th, a C-47 SW of Hofgeismar on 4 April, 1945. His 10th, a P-47 10 km NW of Heiligenstadt on 7 April, 1945. Added: He is believed to be the wingman of Fw Helmut Holtz this date, when the Holtz ac became bogged down in mud during a rescue attempt of the wingman (D.Drury).

Fighter Operational Clasp 		WIA 23 December, 1944 during aerial combat at Lellingen. He was reported to have died from his wounds (JG-4 List). His G-14 crashed near Arnhem Holland on 24 September, 1944, cause unknown (DeSwart). He was injured in the crash (JG-4 List). Initially in a Luft flak unit, he became a pilot near wars end when fuel and aircraft were in short supply. He was a paratrooper at wars end. He was an English POW, released in January, 1946. Oberleutnant Richard Anders (January 3, 1915 - September 9, 1993) had participated in the invasion of Poland in 1939 with the Aufklärungsgruppe 21 when his reconnaissance plane was shot down by an enemy hunter plane which left him and Hauptmann wounded. Anders then changed units to Ergänzungs-Aufklärungsgruppe (6 August 1942) and Aufklärungsgruppe 12 (1 September 1942). He was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on 27 July 1944 as Oberleutnant and Flugzeugführer at 11. Staffel (H) / Nahaufklärungsgruppe 12 / Fliegerführer Kroatien / Luftwaffenkommando Südost after completing many reconnaissance missions and directing artillery fire. At the end of the war Anders joined Staff 8. Flak-Division. In total he has completed 370 feindflug (combat missions), most of which take place on the Eastern Front. Other medals and awards he received: Flugzeugführerabzeichen; Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (November 26, 1939) and in Silber (January 21, 1944); Dienstauszeichnung der Wehrmacht IV. Klasse (1939); Eisernes Kreuz II. Class (December 13, 1939) and I. Classe (July 25, 1940); Frontflugspange für Auklärer in Bronze (21 April 1941), in Silber (22 February 1942), in Gold (30 November 1942) and mit Anhänger (19 July 1943); Luftwaffe Ehrenpokale für Besondere Leistungen im Luftkrieg (10 August 1942); Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1942/42 (December 31, 1942); and the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold (April 12, 1943). He also got one foreign medal namely the Ehrenzeichen der Slowakisches Schnellen Division XLII (Slovakien Honor award for service against the Soviet Union) which he got on 23 May 1942. What was unusual about Richard Anders's Oberleutnant photo was the absence of the Luftwaffe eagle logo on his hat! Post-war photos taken?

KIC the night of 20/21 January, 1944, crashed 10km N of Kehlheim, SW of Regensburg, cause unknown (C.König). Injured in a crash on 9 October, 1943, overturned on landing at München-Riem. Injured in a 2nd crash on 18 December, 1943 at the München-Riem airfield, no cause reported. All of this after severely injured on the Eastern Front, in July 1941, injuring his left hand and lower right arm amputated while in 2/Aufkl.Abt. 99. His remains rest in the Amsinck family vault in Nienstedten Cemetery, Hamburg. (LOCS).davedrury
