There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

One known victory, his 1st, a Spitfire over Portland on 11 May, 1941. His 2nd, a Spitfire near St Omer on 10 July, 1941. His 3rd, a Spitfire 20 km NE of Calais on 19 August, 1941. A 4th, a Spitfire 2 km NE of Lille on 31 August, 1941. His 5th, a Hurricane near Boulogne on 16 September, 1941. His 6th, a Spitfire on 27 September, 1941, no location. His 7th, a Spitfire on 2 October, 1941, no location. He downed two Spitfires, Nos.8 & 9, on 12 October, 1941, no locations. No. 11, a Spitfire N of Cherbourg on 3 June, 1942; his 12th, another Spitfire on 6 June, 1942, both N of Cherbourg. 12 British victories appeared on the tail of his Fw 190A-2, Werk # 333. Per Hans Hoehler, Barann was allegedly credited with a B-17 bomber, his 2nd victory, Ser. # 42-30725, 100th BG, 418 BS, "Aw-R-Go", shot down 10 October, 1943 by Lienen. It was piloted by Capt. Charles B. Cruikshank. Navigator, Capt. Frank D. Murphy of Atlanta. Frank Murphy suggests the pilot was Oblt Heinrich Klopper. One known victory, his 1st, a B-17 N of Roye on 28 July, 1943. A 2nd, a B-17 E of Ostbevern, NE of Münster, 10 October, 1943. His 3rd, a B-17 on 11 January, 1944. His 4th, a P-47 N of Osnabrück on 10 February, 1944. His 7th, a Spitfire S of Caen on 14 July, 1944. His 8th, a Typhoon at Caen on 19 July, 1944. His 9th, a Spitfire on 25 July, 1944, no location given. His 10th, a Spitfire at Pontoise on 6 August, 1944. His 23rd victory (?), the 1st for III Gruppe in Russia, was an Il-2 on 17 January, 1945. His 11th & 12th, both Yak-9s on 10 February, 1945. His 13th, a Yak-9 on 17 February, 1945. His 14th, a P-39 on 23 February, 1945.

Another source suggests he was the victim of P-38s and P-47s. His first known Soviet victory, a DB-3a on 31 January, 1942. An I-16 Rata on 14 July, 1942. A Yak-1 on 24 July, 1942. His 7th victory was a P-40 in N. Africa on 26 November, 1942. His 8th, a B-17 on 30 January, 1944. His 9th, a B-17 on 18 March, 1944, no location. His 10th, a B-24 90 km SE of Ferrara on 7 April, 1944. His 12th, a Spitfire ESE of Rimini Italy on 25 June, 1944. His 14th, a P-47 on 11 September, 1944, no location given. His 15th, a P-51 on 18 September, 1944, no location, but most likely over Italy still.

The Allies quickly learned, from a Luftflotte 2 daily operations report that 30 Bf 109s had transferred to Tulln-an-der-Donau on 8 July, shooting down a P-38 (corresponding to Hptm. Lothar Baumann of Stab I./JG 77's claim of a P-38 at 11.05 hours, local time). Also, one Bf 109 had crash landed on returning to its Italian base. (Extract from Allied decode of JG-77 signal traffic)

Night Fighter Operational Clasp		KilledInAction (KIA) 28 July, 1941. One known victory, a Blenheim on 28 July, 1941, near Wivenhoe Essex England. His other crew, all KilledInAction (KIA); Gefr Werner Ulbricht (bur CC, Blk 1, Gr 314) and Gefr Fritz Rosenstock. A Jager Blatt inquiry of 2/1998 implies that the crew was lost the day of this victory. A Jager Blatt response on 2/2001, Bisang reported that one engine had failed and that one of the crew was wounded. The British reported that the Ju 88 was being pursued by a Havoc, however, the Ju 88 fell before the Havoc began to shoot. The crew were all buried at Ipswich. Alternate spelling: Biesang.

Fighter Operational Clasp		KilledInAction (KIA) 26 November, 1944. His A-8 crashed between Kuhfelde and Valfitz, 60 km from Uelzen. His remains were recovered in 1998, and he was interned in the War Cemetery, Salzwedeler (Source: Lothar Wiegels). Added Burial: German War Cem. Salzwedel/Hansestadt, Altstädter Friedhof, Blk A, Row 1, Gr 20 (D.Drury). One known victory, his 1st, in his Fw 190A-7 Wk# 340048 "Black 6", a B-17 N of Braunschweig on 11 April, 1944. His 2nd, a B-17 on 19 April, 1944 near the Paderborn airfield. A double victory on 22 April, 1944, both B-17s near Hamms Germany. He accidentally rammed the tail of the 2nd B-17, and he, and 7 B-17 crewmen were able to bail safely. His 5th victory, a P-51 on 8 May, 1944, S of Delmenhorst, over Cloppenburg. Uninjured during aerial combat in Wk# 170102 on 22 April, 1944 near Altenbögge; bailed safely. On 31 May, 1944 he was shot down by a P-47, the "Blk 11" A-8 crashing at Gütersloh. He bailed safely (Prien-Redeike & Mombeeck). Added: made a belly landing 5 km SW of Cochem after air combat on 12/05/44 (CKönig)
17 Bolte, GeorgUffz11/19/1921Rheine3/NJG-2 (11/44 Reich Def)Ju 88G-6 Werk # 620576 "4R + ??" (lost 11/10/44) Night Fighter Operational Clasp AC lost 10 November, 1944, no further detail. Added: After a night mission, while landing at Kassel-Rothwesten, near Kassel-Wahnhausen, the ac crashed, killing all onboard. Uffz Bolte was taken home to Rheine, where he is buried in a private grave. Remaining crew: Uffz Lothar Firlus (geb 5/29/22, Etzdorf), R/O (KIC) and Uffz Ernst Manigel (geb 4/20/22, Lubitze), Gnr (KIC) (A. Rosseels). Added: The two crew were buried at Kassel Hauptfriedhof, graves 57-601 and 57-568 (C.König).

Added: Both Lt Bötel and his R/O-Gnr, Gefr Lothar Radecker (born 03/10/1921 in Lichtentanne (CK)), are buried Yssel, Lt Bötel AR-6-142, Gefr Radecker AR-6-140 (SGLO).

Bomber Operational Clasp		WIA 20 July, 1940; aerial combat with a Spitfire of No. 54 Sq., piloted by P/O Leathart, 10km E of Aldeburgh, crash landing at Zuyenkerke. Another crewman was killed. On 1 March, 1940, his other ac was damaged by AA fire near Poix-Terron, and they belly landed at Biblis (LOCS). Added: Seriously wounded on 20 July, he was hospitalized at Brugges, Be. When recovered, he joined 1/KG-200, flying the old Ar 232 ac of Lt Lothar Sieber. His was the first mission to assassinate Stalin on 31 May, 1944 with Lt Paul Goldstein as Team Commander. The mission failed due to dense fog, and the ac was damaged when a landing gear collapsed while landing at Zareby Poland (H.D.Zemke). Bulgarian Pilots Badge		Channel Pilot. Soviet POW 22 January, 1945 during a low-level attack east of Rogelwitz Silesia when he received a radiator flak hit and had to crash land. His R/O, Ofw Wirtz was seriously wounded, and both were taken prisoner. Wirtz has been MIA ever since. Lau was shot down with wounds in his "AS" AC by two RAF Hurricanes on 17 May, 1940. Night Fighter Operational Clasp in Silver		KilledInAction (KIA) 13/14 May, 1943 during aerial combat with a Lancaster over Holland, when he was forced to bail from his 110 because of an engine fire, but he was thrown against the tailplane and killed. His RO, OFw Czybulka bailed safely. The 110 crashed at Tacozijl Holland, WNW of Lemmer (DeSwart). 100 missions. 25 Night and 3 Day victories. His first victory, a Blenheim west of Stavanger, 19 April, 1940. During the Battle of Britain, with I/ZG-76, he was badly shot up, but made it back to Jever on one engine. A 2nd victory, a Wellington SE of Ostenfeld, E of Husum, the night of 11-12 May, 1941, now in 6/NJG-1. A Hampden at Scheldmündung on 26 July, 1941. A Lancaster I of RAF No. 106 Sq. at Zwartveen (Friesland), 5 km NW of Drachten Holland the night of 26-27 July, 1942. A Wellington IV of RAF No. 22 (OTU) at Ramspol, NW of Kampen Holland, the night of 13-14 September, 1942. A Halifax II "MH-B" 30 km north of Ameland on the night of 3/4 March, 1943. Transport Operational Clasp		Beginning in September 1941, he flew 31 known supply missions to Crete, Greece and Africa, receiving the EK 2 for his performance. He then served in Russia, and flew another 23 known supply missions, including five to Cholm. Judging from a photo in his album, he may have crashed a Gotha 242 "DM + XR" on 5 May, 1943. Prior to his Luftwaffe service, he was in the HJ, DLV and NSFK. Identified in a photo album, numerous documents and his Flugbuch found online.
