He was aboard a Ju 52 en-route from Sarajevo-Butmir airfield to Zagreb-Borongaj airfield when the plane crashed near Sisak during a severe thunderstorm. It was not due to enemy action and no Partisan activity was involved. His successor was Gen.Maj. Wolfgang Erdmann. |
