There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

The black smoke and the red sparks were soon transformed into a ball of fire. The Do 217 dove straight into the sea from an altitude of 8000 feet. Remaining crew: Uffz Edgar Moll, Observer (KilledInAction (KIA)), Uffz Peter Hartmann, wireless operator (KilledInAction (KIA)) and Uffz Hans Woelke, mechanic (MIA). The body of Ahrendholz was recovered from the sea four miles off the river Tyne on 20 September, 1942, and was buried in Preston Cemetery, North Shields. In the 1960s, it was re-buried in the German War Cemetery at Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, Block 3, Gr 285.

Added: Flying with the crew of Hptm Paul Strobel, they were killed when they collided with the crew of Lt Hans Auer, as they passed thru a layer of clouds, killing both crews. Remaining Strobel crew: Uffz Walter Fock; Ogefr Georg Arnold and Uffz Ewald Oetken. 447 combat missions, 313on eastern front, and 68 last over four hours, thus counted as doubles, total 515 missions. He was the first Flt Engr to receive the RK (C.König).

On the return flight from an Intruder Mission over England, Alt spotted a dingy in the water below and circled while the R/O sent out a distress signal to Air Sea Rescue. To the horror of the He 111H-5 Wk# 3883 "5J + KS", 8/KG-4 (A.Rosseels) crew in the dingy, the wingtip of the Ju 88 hit the water, sinking immediately, and taking the crew with it. The entire crew perished. Remaining crew (KIC): Uffz Hans Georg Suckow (geb 7/9/1920, Gumbinnen), R/O and Uffz Erwin Willi Korn (geb 10/11/1920, Bigicheim), Gunner. Suckow & Korn are remembered on the Laboe Naval Memorial (D.Drury). Added: The He 111 crew were rescued except for Uffz Karl Brückner, Flt Engr (D.Drury).

Force landed his F-2 Werk # 5525 at Grajewo S.U., w/o injuries, on 23 June, 1941 (Prien). One known victory, his 1st, a Bloch 152 northeast of Reims, 19 May, 1940. His 2nd, a Hawk-75A southwest of Compiegne, 21 May, 1940. His 3rd, a Morane 406 10 km south of Creil, 27 May, 1940. His 4th, a Potez 63 at Gournay on 3 June, 1940. His 5th, a Blenheim Mk IV, possibly of No.82 Sq., location unknown, on 8 September, 1940. His 6th, a Spitfire NW of Dungeness on 20 September, 1940. His 7th, a Hurricane on 13 May, 1941, no location. An 8th, a Hurricane W of Ramsgate on 16 May, 1941. Survived the war(Magnus). Added: He had been interned as POW in Canada. After the war, he moved to British Columbia, where he passed 14 September, 2008 (H.Wheeler).

Five known victories were bombers, including two Lancasters by Zwolle on 23 October, 1943. Another, a Halifax at Emmerich on 15 February, 1944. A Halifax 4 km ESE of Maastricht on 28 April, 1944. Hans Baasner joined Flak Regt 2 at Szczecin, 01.10.1936. In 1938/1939, he went on to become a reserve officer in the anti-aircraft artillery regiment in Greifswald. In August 1939, he was appointed to the Department of the flak-teaching regiment in Hamburg. At the beginning of the war, he was transferred to East Frisia as adjutant to the Headlamp (Searchlamp?) Regiment 1. In May 1940, he began his training as an observer at Großenhain. In June 1941, he was deployed to the eastern front. After being promoted to first lieutenant, he was awarded the Knight's Cross on 14.03.1943, after operations in France, England, the Balkans and Russia. From Mid-1943 he received a training at the pilots school A/B 41 in Frankfurt / Oder and at the pilots school (C) 6 in Kolberg. In 1944 he attended the blind flying school in Copenhagen. After being retrained in IV/KG 6 on the Ju 88 and Ju188, he joined Stab/KG-6. On 02.06.1944 to be assigned as an ia (?) officer. On 12.08.1944, he was given command of the III./ KG 6, which was at that time to be a booster in Ahlhorn and flew against the invasion front. On 19.10.1944, the order for the reclassification of KG-6 was ordered and Baasner sent to Breslau-Rosen to train as a fighter pilot. The III/KG-6 was then in Prague-Rusin and was refitted sparingly on the Fw 190. On 31.01.1945, the III group was named " Schwanen Gruppe", the first Me 262 element of the squadron. But the new deliveries of the Me 262 did not come until March 1945. In March / April Baasner left the III. Group, which is now III/KG(J)-6, and took over the leadership of I/KG (J) 54, which was also in Prague-Rusin. At the end of the war, he was captured with the remains of his group in Graz, from which he was released. Baasner flew over 300 reconnaissance missions. Three Il-2 on 28 July, 1942. A 27th, a Pe-2 on 29 July, 1942. A 28th & 29th, a Pe-2 and a DB-7 on 6 August, 1942. Two Soviet P-40s on 12 August, 1942. Six LaGG-3s on 13 August, 1942! Two LaGG-3s on 18 August, 1942. An Il-2 on 25 August, 1942. Two LaGG-3s on 3 September, 1942. Two Il-2s on 5 September, 1942. A P-39 on 14 September, 1942. Severely injured 19 August, 1941 in a crash due to engine failure on his 132nd mission. Returned to duty in 1944 with KG-1 flying the four-engine He 177. His gunner was Fw Hein Bruns. R/O Uffz Hans Jäger. Observer Fw Zens. British POW, released 1946. He was interviewed for a History Channel program seen in 2002. Retired LW-Bundeswehr Oberst. Deceased 10 April, 2004.

In an earlier incident, in the same ac, on 20 April, 1944, during an operation over the North Sea, they were attacked by a night fighter. They escaped the attacker by evasive action, however, the gunner, Gefr Hans Schiebeck bailed, and the others returned home without him. The gunners body was recovered, but there is no listing for him in the VDK (D.Drury).

Night Fighter Operational Clasp		KilledInAction (KIA) 14 June, 1941 during a night intruder mission near Lincolnshire, when he was attacked by a Beaufighter of RAF No. 25 Sq., piloted by P/O D.W. Thompson and P/O L.D. Britain. The AC was hit some 36 times by cannon fire and the starboard engine was set on fire. The AC crashed at Wingland Marsh, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk, before the crew had time to bail. Remaining crew (KilledInAction (KIA)): Uffz Jakob Ried, R/O and Uffz Heinz (Hans) Schulz (geb 10/23/1915), Gunner. Alternate spelling: Baehner. Added: Uffz Ried buried Great Bircham (St Mary) Churchyard, War Graves Plot 2, Row 2, Gr 6. Uffz Schulz buried Sutton Bridge (St Matthew) Churchyard, Sec Q, Gr 40. Per Hans Hoehler, Barann was allegedly credited with a B-17 bomber, his 2nd victory, Ser. # 42-30725, 100th BG, 418 BS, "Aw-R-Go", shot down 10 October, 1943 by Lienen. It was piloted by Capt. Charles B. Cruikshank. Navigator, Capt. Frank D. Murphy of Atlanta. Frank Murphy suggests the pilot was Oblt Heinrich Klopper. One known victory, his 1st, a B-17 N of Roye on 28 July, 1943. A 2nd, a B-17 E of Ostbevern, NE of Münster, 10 October, 1943. His 3rd, a B-17 on 11 January, 1944. His 4th, a P-47 N of Osnabrück on 10 February, 1944. His 7th, a Spitfire S of Caen on 14 July, 1944. His 8th, a Typhoon at Caen on 19 July, 1944. His 9th, a Spitfire on 25 July, 1944, no location given. His 10th, a Spitfire at Pontoise on 6 August, 1944. His 23rd victory (?), the 1st for III Gruppe in Russia, was an Il-2 on 17 January, 1945. His 11th & 12th, both Yak-9s on 10 February, 1945. His 13th, a Yak-9 on 17 February, 1945. His 14th, a P-39 on 23 February, 1945.
