He crashed and burned, along with his R/O of 800 missions, Ofw Hans Kanhor (Nom. for the RK). Otte flew 1179 missions as fighter, destroyer and dive bomber pilot. Added: Maj Otte's remains have not been transferred to a military cemetery, but a grave is believed to exist at Cosnita, Moldova. He is commemorated in the German War Cem. at Chisinau, Moldova (D.Drury). Added: WIFA on 10/04/40 in take-off accident at Bonn-Hangelar. Ge received the Oak Leaves after 1000 combat missions.
