There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

The black smoke and the red sparks were soon transformed into a ball of fire. The Do 217 dove straight into the sea from an altitude of 8000 feet. Remaining crew: Uffz Edgar Moll, Observer (KilledInAction (KIA)), Uffz Peter Hartmann, wireless operator (KilledInAction (KIA)) and Uffz Hans Woelke, mechanic (MIA). The body of Ahrendholz was recovered from the sea four miles off the river Tyne on 20 September, 1942, and was buried in Preston Cemetery, North Shields. In the 1960s, it was re-buried in the German War Cemetery at Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, Block 3, Gr 285.

12 Alberti, HelmutLt10/NJG-3 (Aalborg)Ju 88C-6 Werk # 360144 "D5 + KX" (lost 9/13/43)Night Fighter Operational ClaspKIC 13 September, 1943 when, on a calibration flight for radar, his right engine caught fire out over the sea, and Alberti tried to make it back to land. The AC crashed at Vester Hjulskov Denmark, east of Jerslev. Alberti had bailed out too low an altitude, for his body was found near the wreckage. He was buried in the Frederikshavn Cemetery on 18 September. Remaining crew: The unnamed R/O bailed safely near Jerslev. The Mechanic, Gefr Otto Kramm, bailed out before the Ju 88 reached the coast and landed in the sea where he drowned. His body was recovered on 15 September, 1943, and he was buried in the Frederikshavn Cemetery on 19 September, 1943. Source: Air War over Denmark.

The AC crashed at Wingland Marsh, near Kings Lynn, Norfolk, before the crew had time to bail. The crew of Ueberson/Bartnik flew numerous missions over Northern England between 1942-1943, becoming the longest surviving crew in their unit by March, 1943. They were removed from operations and served in instructional capacities (Jager Blatt & LOCS).

Ar 232 A-101

The first and only unit fully equipped with Ar 232 was the 7./Erg.TG. (Supplementary transport squadron). Their formation, in Schönwalde near Berlin, was apparently ordered as early as June 1943, probably on the 15th. The first squadron commander, Walter Meltzer (Knights Cross) from III./TG 1, had been appointed, but together with the group commander the l./Erg.TG., Major Kurt Wendorff, in a test flight with the Ar 232 A-03, VD + YC, he was fatally injured in Schönwalde along with Oblt. Helmut Jardon, Offz.z.b.V., Ofw. Albert Klenk, Bordmechaniker, and Uffz. Heinrich Gräf, Bordfunker, all of the 7./Erg.TG. Meltzer's successor was Major Josef Belz. While he and a few other members of the squadron, including Ofw. Max Limbrecht, had already been instructed in the new pattern at the factory, it was not until December 1943 that the A-02 aircraft in Schönwalde could be deployed. That same month, the squadron was relocated to Eger. There it received three more machines in January (A-06, A-09 and B-06) and another two in February 1944. The last two should have been at least one more B, most likely the B-05.

Added: Also MIA, Gefr Kubiak, Obs; Uffz Masser, R/O and Uffz Haring, Gnr (Qu.Meister File). Photographed on the Island of Malta from 7500 meters on 23 February, 1942. His crew this date: Oblt Günter Steppacher (DKiG (02/07/42 postm, EP (24/11/41) KIA with another pilot of 1(F) 121 on 17/05/42 in Ju 88 "F6 + LH" over Valetta/Malta when shot down by 249 Sqdn.) , Obs; Gefr Ueffing, R/O and Gefr Haring, Gunner (Wiki Luft data & Ju 88 Loss List). Added: Their Ju 88 was lost 160km N of Algiers. Failed to return from a maritime reconnaissance mission along the North African coast between Algiers and Cape Serrat. Remaining two crew (desig unk: Uffz Kurt von Holst and Uffz Werner Lissmann. Maj Bertram was promoted to Obstlt while in captivity (D.Drury).
