REASON FOR LOSS:
Weather; Showers, visibility; 3,500 yards, 8/10 Stratocumulus cloud, south westerly wind of 5 - 10 mph.
Taking off at 17:35 with seven others. During the return trip with flak damage and suffering from an engine failure crashed into a small hill at 20:32 hrs.
The remaining seven landed safely by 20:59 hrs.

Stepfather Andrew Burton Gabbie. Brother of William Arthur Brass (died 11th October 1951, age 35), Lydia Mary Colbrook, Margaret Maude Brass. Epitah: 'Never Shall The One We Love From Our Memory Pass Away'.
F/O. Dennis Arthur Field. Coventry (London Road) Cemetery Square 311. Grave 135, Born in March 1923. Son of son of John and Hannah Field and husband of Gwyneth Eileen Field (née Llewellyn). of Coventry. Epitaph: 'In Loving Memory Of Dennis, Resting Where No Shadows Fall'.
Medals; 1939-1945 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; War Medal 1939-45, sold together with a named and addressed box of issue to 'Mrs G. E. Field.', extremely fine. Sold at Spinks Auctioneers for £320.
