Pilot: F/O. Horace Gaulterus Graham-Hogg 39516 RAF Age 27. Killed

Obs: Sgt. John Rose Proctor 515376 RAF Age 26. Killed

W/Op/Air/Gnr: AC.1 James Shuttleworth 626490 RAF Age 21. Killed

REASON FOR LOSS:

At approximately 16:00 hrs. the aircraft was shot down by Lt. Arnold Lignitz (1) of 1/JG20 flying a Me109 over Babberich.

In May 1973 parts of the L9465 were recovered at Babberich by the RNLAF - no further details where the parts are displayed.

(1) Lt. Arnold Liegnitz - born on the 25th March 1913 at Ostpreußen. Appointed Staffelkapitän of 3./JG 20 on the 16th January 1940. On the 30th September 1941 his Bf109 suffered a structural failure of the wing and he baled out. He was captured and imprisoned. He was known to have suffered ill health while in captivity. Lignitz was posthumously promoted to the rank of Major. credited with 25 victories. Died on the 30th September 1941.(Information courtesy Kracker Archives)

F/O. Horace Gaulterus Graham-Hogg. Arnhem General Cemetery (Moscowa) Collective grave 1. Son of George Henry and Alice L. Hogg. brother Sq/Ldr. Denis Graham-Hogg 61044 RAF also served in 21 squadron. Shot down on the 18th July 1941 and taken PoW No. 3656 and held in Stalag Luft Sagan. Grave inscription: 'Son of George Henry and Alice L. Hogg'.

Sgt. John Rose Proctor. Arnhem General Cemetery (Moscowa) Collective grave 1. Son of Alexander Wight Proctor and Jane Henderson Proctor, of Aberdeen, Scotland.

AC.1 James Shuttleworth. Arnhem General Cemetery (Moscowa) Collective grave 1. Son of Mrs. H. Crabb, of Ilford, Essex, England. Grave inscription: 'As Long As We Live We'll Treasure His Name. Never Forgotten By Loved Ones In England'.
