REASON FOR LOSS:
Taking off at 12:30 hrs to escort of 5 Bostons that were attacking troops near Medjez.
During the return trip believed to have been shot down by enemy fighters near Beja. Wreckage was later found and the pilot buried

Sgt. John Allan Horgan. Beja War Cemetery, Tunisia. Grave 1.L.6. Born on the 09th September 1920 at Timaru, the son of William Horgan, and of Ellen Julia Horgan (née Martin), of Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. A trimmer prior to service. A total of 337 flying hours logged and on his 09th operational sortie.
