REASON FOR LOSS:
Whilst climbing through cloud at 2000 ft the pilot apparently lost the leader , went into a spin and failed to recover.
The aircraft crashed in a field at location shown at 18:50 hrs.
Burial details:
Sub-Lt. Kenneth Sutherland Roberts. Peterhead Old Churchyard. Row E. 26. Grave 514. Born on the 27th December 1921 at Dunedin, the son of James Sutherland Roberts and Gladys Eileen Roberts (née Mason), of Wellington City, New Zealand. Prior to service worked as a clerk for the Defence Department.
