REASON FOR LOSS:
On the 28th February flying with 3 Squadron over the Netherlands. After taking off at 11:45 hrs from RAF Manston on a Ramrod operation Typhoon Ib JP921 QO-P hit by flak near Son. Fl/Lt. Wardziński baled out at around 14:15 hrs. and evaded capture with the assistance of the Dutch resistance.
Then on this operation during dive-bombing in the afternoon hit by flak and forced landed near Amersfoort. Again the pilot evaded capture and returned to his unit.
Burial details:
None - Fl/Lt. Erazm Stanisław Wardziński VM V kl., 3xKW, SKZzM, ML survived the war. Born on the 12th November 1919 at Korytowo, Świecie, Poland. Settled in England post-war. Died on the 07th July 1993 age 74. Cremated Highcliffe, Dorset, England.
