How do I translate foreign text in your Databases into English

Solution

At the foot of each database table is a Translate function.

This is provided to us by Google.

Some of our databases are not in English. If you attempt to use the Translate function you will find dozens of languages to translate into BUT not English.

We discovered a 3 step process to overcome this.

(1) click the Translate button and select any language, it does not matter which

(2) with the data now in your chosen language, click the Translate button again

(3) there at the top (usually) is English. Select it and you are done.

When you translate a database entry, Google translates the entire page including the person's name - which doesn't make sense. Optionally, therefore you can select the piece of text you DO want to translate and paste that into your browser's built-in translate facility (usually you right-click and choose Translate), or you can paste it into a standalone Translate app.
