REASON FOR LOSS:
During training exercise the engine failed.
A minute later the pilot made a forced landing at the airfield. He survived with no injuries but the aircraft was extensively damaged. The aircraft was taken to Rosenfield for repair but the airframe was struck off charge on the 05th December, parts removed and reduced to scrap.
Sadly the pilot was to later lose his life on the 18th August 1941 whilst with 300 squadron flying Wellington R1641 BH-Z, 4 crew survived with various injuries.
