On 13th March 1945, a Mosquito VI aircraft with serial number PZ436 coded YP-Z of 23 Squadron RAF based at Little Snoring, Norfolk, was conducting an Intruder operation. The aircraft was piloted by Lieutenant Edmond Lignon of the Free French Air Force, aged 31, with navigator Flying Officer Manoel Callas of the Royal Australian Air Force, aged 27.
