22/5/1940 from France after he, in a group of 24 aircraft, mostly Fokker trainers, had escaped from Holland on 14/5/1940

Remarks

He was credited with one 1.500t cargo vessel sunk in the Bokna Fjord, North of Stavanger, Norway, on 31/10/1941; and one 8.000t cargo vessel 15' NW of the Lista peninsula on 17/11/1941

Het gedurende meer dan een jaar deelnemen aan de operaties op verschillende vliegtuigen, waarbij 213 dag- en nacht vlieguren in oorlogsopdrachten werden volbracht en herhaaldelijk, in contact met den vijand, moed, inititatief en volharding werden betoond, zodat op succesvolle wijze aan de oorlogvoering in de lucht werd deelgenomen waarbij op 31 October 1941 en op 17 November 1941 op vijandelijke koopvaardijschepen, ondanks het afweervuur, bomtreffers werden verkregen.

De Haan: aircraft flew into a barrage balloon cable

Bosch kent Versluis en Emmens niet, en noemt Res Sgt Vl A.C. den Boer en Off Vl 1kl H. Schaper, die beiden overleefden, en krijgsgevangen werden genomen. Bosch verwart met Hudson 'Cheribon', die tijdens deze missie en geslaagde noodlanding op zee moest maken. De bemanning werd gered door een Duits Flakschip, en vertrok naar krijgsgevangenschap. Tot deze bemanning behoorden ook Sgt Telegr A.J.I. Lensing en Matroos 2kl M. Loos.

320 Sqn Hudson AM939 'Cheribon' was also hit by Flak during this mission, and emergency-landed succesfully at sea. The crew was rescued by a German Flak ship, and taken POW.
