Transition to the Armée de l'Air In May 1945, the FAFL was officially integrated into the Armée de l'Air, marking the re-establishment of the French Air Force as a unified entity. The legacy of the FAFL continues to influence the modern French Air Force, with many traditions and units tracing their origins back to this period.
